bio rings such as bio homme? should it be used fully submerged in water? of just half submerged, half exposed?

Bio balls can be used to cultivate bateria when fully submerged in water right?

Or can bio rings be used to cultivate bateria when fully submerged?

hey, just read bio home website.

It mentioned that bio home work best in zero light conditions, but it can work wif shaded areas too.

If you are to ran a refgium, the light used to shine the refgium, won't it prevent the BB to build up in the bio home and bio home will be useless?

does that apply to cermanic rings?
