bloodlamb
hi, I'm getting a new 4x2x2. For the sump I already have a 1262 for the main return. For the chiller I have another 1262 (with a return to the tank) and will tee of some flow for the skimmer. This design is recommended by my tank maker. Do you people think that the flow rate will be enough for the skimmer (a macro not sure of the model)? Or I will be better off connecting a FR to it and get a delicated pump for the skimmer? lightningstrike
IMHO, i feel it is better to get a delicate pump to serve ur skimmer needs. SRC Member Clownfish Posted December 7, 2004 SRC Member Share Posted December 7, 2004 y make urself so troublesome? just get another pump for ur skimmer in this way, u do not hav to do the tee-off, n u do not have to worry abt reduced flowrate to the chiller n reduced power to drive ur skimmer Quote My Personal Blog My Wedding Website

bloodlamb
The pump to the chiller might be too powerful (ehiem 1262) that is why I am getting the tee off. My tank maker was sure that it could be done I'm not so convinced so I want to know how the others have done it. The chiller will be a Resun 640l. The skimmer is ASF300.
