Problems with Resun MD55

Just installed a Resun MD 55 but have two problems:

(1) I used a small pump to pump water into MD55 but when I turned off the small pump water stoped flowing even though MD55 is still on. What is the correct way to get MD55 work?

(2) water flowed to main tank from MD 55 contained lots of buble? What caused this to happen and how to reduce bubble in water?

why do u need to use a small pump to 'feed' the MD55?

presume u are using those rubber flexible hose, u can actually use a funnel and pour water into it (at the inlet), once u see there is water up to the return end (the one which is vertical) then it should be sufficient.

bend the end of the hose and the minute it enters the water, just release it and switch the power on. it should be running on its own.

What's the size of your tubing? and how long is the inlet tubing and how many elbows?

When pump just fired up there will be some small bubbles assuming the inlet piping is done properly.

I am sure that my setup is not correct. Understand that I need to make U tube as i don't have drilled sump. How to make the U tube? I used 16mm pvc and ehiem tube.

next u remove ur endcap and pour the water right in an u switch the pump on.The juices will get movin then.u need to close the endcap after that.

I just used an elbow instead of a T-joint. Just used a smaller powerhead to pump water into the pump to start.. Make sure to pvc glue the parts properly.

Anyone using MD55 without drilled sump? I would like to come by to take a look of your setup.
