Nitrate Problem!!

Hi All,

need some advise, my reef is 1 year plus. all are well but lately my nitrate are very high & my coral & fishes started to die. would like to find if there is anything or ways to help reduce the nitrate level.

i do have a skimmer but had never done water change. will try to do a water change &see. thks

Never do a water change???? :huh:

Advice you to change only a little of yr water to prevent a shock to yr livestock by the sudden drop in nitrate :nuke:

Assuming yrs a 4ft:

Start by maybe 1 pail every 2 - 3 days, then increase to every other day till yr nitrate is reduced to a significantly low level

The idea is to slowly dilute and bring down thenitrate. :peace:

no matter how good your skimmer is ...

bro .. still have to do water changes~~~

it is advise to do weekly changes of small amount of water

then do a water changes once a month of 30 percent or more~~

this is to prevent a big change in water parameter
