for info I had a 2 ft tank for abuut a year...and now upgrade..

A RIO32 HF as the return pump...

cyclying starts on 24 Nov 04..

notice one market prawn at bottom right of tank...

The Rio 32 pump is very power man....the return pipe flew off to the ceiling like a fountain...forgot to stick that part....

lucky i was quick to off the pump in time...phew!!

Cut some light diffuser to place at the overflow to prevent any unfortunate accident of any snail or fish that may drop into the overflow tower and block my return pipe.

after 10 days of cycling using cured live rocks and a prawn...found that its now safe for the 1st residents to arrive...

Transfer the 1st batch from 2ft (HDB) to the 4ft (landed property)....

are u staying at Sebawang? maybe u can do some adjusting of the return flow... i mean use pvc pipe to create flow u want & not what u have now

Running on macro needle wheel skimmer?if yes u shd hv lots of bubbles cover the whole chamber and shd not able to see the pipe inside the chamber.
