Protein Skimmer Working???

Hi everyones, just wanna know whether will the Skimmer only works when i starts putting corals OR if let say i starts putting LR?? Currently my cycle tank, i am putting in LRs only but my WeiPro 2011 still as clean as ever..

My tank have been cycle for around 2weeks liao..

have to put any bio-matter (fish or shrimp meat) to start the cycle process?

Also, you shouldn't start your skimmer while the tank is cycling. The purpose of cycling is to provide enough bio-matter so that the bacteria can multiply. If you take those bio-matter out with a skimmer, it somewhat defeats the purpose.

I have use a MP to starts the cycle since but it dissolve already, currently my Ammonia is at 0.25ppm..

So cani say that i shouldnt use the Skimmer now??
