clams yes..but sps...they might survive..but u will lose all the vibrant colours...left with brown acros....

normally people would suggest 1 mh for every 2 foot of tank...yours is 3 foot...so u just place those less light demanding corals at the 2 ends of the tank and the light demanding ones like clams directly under the mh lor...

Anything lower than 6500k is not suitable for marine.other than that,its really your preference.most people go for 10000k as its got a crisp white colour.any lower would be yellow and any higher would be bluish.
