Hmmm...actually whether she chooses express of normal i do not see a difference, a year is just a year and it is not as if that single year will make a whole lot of difference.

However, which ever school she chooses, i feel its the company she mixes with which is very important. A real life experience happened to me. My cousin was in the same situation as your lil' couz. His parents ultimatly decided to enrol him in the normal academic course so as not to stress him. There, he took his time and studied at his own pace and true enough he made it back into the express stream in sec 2. However when he was in sec 2 he mixed with the wrong company, joining gang and all. His results skidded non-stop and was slammed back into the normal course in sec 3 and did not even do well enough to make it to poly during his O's. Luckily he "woke" up in time and did good in ITE, good enough to be accepted in poly. he lost wat?? a total of 3-4 years in the process so as i said above 1 year is nothing as long as she is comfortable with the pace and she knows what she is doing.

To reinforce my point that a year does not matter, i'm in uni now and i have friends who are older but in the same year as me and they are still doing very well. And by well i mean they are either in the dean's list or are offered Accelerated Bachelor Program.

All in all i feel studying is all individual. As long as u know what you are doing, its no matter what stream you come from.

just my humble opinion...cheers... :D
