Saw some some black spots on my sun coral last night, actually it is wide spread. It is not opening up like it used to be. Is it dying?Pls note that I am now dosing AZ-NO3 due to high nitrate, yesterday was the 4th day. Could it be affect by that? Please help. tx

What i did is that i take them out twice a week into a container to feed them.

I flood them with cyclopeze and small bits of prawns. HAHA! worked quite well.

Dont think AZ would have cause a problem. Been using that too... my suns are ok... maybe the black specks can be parasites? Try taking a closer look?

Yes, I do target feeding at least one or twice a week. It used to open well, but just notice last night that there are some black spots on it, not sure what it is and it seems to affect the sun coral. If those are parasites, any cure to it? Thanks for your help.

I use this method of feeding. Troublesome but worth it. Now got more polyps and has grown twice in size.... I mashed up prawns, fish, squid, silver fish etc and throw into the bowl. Throw in some formula one pellets as well into the opened polyps.

If coral starts to turn black that means part of it is dying. Pls feed it as soon as possible. Use cyclopeeze to entice the fella to open up.
