Tried and worked well.

Now growing like ling zhi.. HAHAA!

Dosing kalk for me works very well. That and reduced lightining - FL or low end MH. 400w will bleach corraline.

Actually calcification occurs faster at high temp.

Calcification is the process that impregnates Calcium and Carbonates. Hard corals calcify to form their skeleton. Coralline algae also calcify.

If you want to grow Coralline Algae fast, beside ensuring constant calcium, carbonate, magnesium, high water flow, low phosphate and actinics lights you can also speed it up by increasing the water temperature.

BUT by raising the temperature, you will have a tank full of Coralline Algae and nothing else. . Maybe you can try on an empty tank first.

In any other case, be patient.

I've observed coraline growth on the lr where my seio pump is blowing directly at it. i.e. strong water flow.

Did this last time, get a coraline algae encrusted LR and, using a brush, start to scrub off the coraline algae to seed the tank. And with the right conditions, its BOOM time.

so basically short cut is get permission to borrow a fellow reefers LR encrusted with coraline algae and sow the seeds of algae? Hmmmm cool

Best is when a reefer scrapes coralline off the tank's glass, call him/her to give come coralline to you for seeding

The seeding is the initial part. Then its important to maintain the right conditions, light and flow, for the coraline algae to grow.

yup. consistent and good water parameters and lighting will help.

but trust me. after a while, it becomes an annoyance and challenges your beloved creatures for cacification!

cos I need to clean almost weekly.. simply growing too fast
