Red Sea Regal Angel

hi,

I want to get a RED SEA regal angel (Pygoplites diacanthus). One lfs had quoted me $40+ for it, abt 4" wif orange belly. Not too sure is the true red sea one. Any comments from fellow reefers?

I believe the ones with a yellow-orange belly is the redsea one...

Yellow Belly Angel came from very wide range ....... Indo, Sri Lanka, Red Sea......

If from Red Sea ?? the price always on the High side.....

Always can't find any from Sri Lanka, they are more beautiful & Healthy ????

The one i saw in ur tank, was it from Red Sea or Sri Lanka? The colours of your Regal are sooo beautiful. With u for almost 2 years right?

lfs got one orange belly?? Your Regal is bright yellow belly right? My tank can only accomodate 1 more fish, so hv to get the right one.

orange- yellow belly is from redsea or Sri lanka.

yellow from india ocean all the way to PNG. Australia & Fiji also same type.

matt white belly is indonesia

still very hard to tell from coloration... best if you see sohal tang maculosus angel and asfur angel together with the regal, most likely that fish is from red sea

Mine from Indo - "Pa Lar" one of the Island. The Farms people told me.. ????

Regal always got the the problem, they don't eat for first wk ??? And must maintance a good water .....

When U want to get the Regal , Also watch out on the body & mouth, whether had injury .... Thk

dimitri... my regal is from red sea and yes its has been with me for more then 2 years... still a juv till date... ...the difference between redsea and asia can be quite confusing and sometime it is quite difficult to tell them apart....but normally those from red sea.. got slightly more orange tone on their body.. but again.. i have witness those from maldive that also have such colour and ever come across yellow belly from phipphines too.. so.. again.. you can't be very sure.... but normally regal from redsea.. will cost ard.. $70.00 while the asia regal will cost ard $30 to $40.... but again.. the price varies from lfs to lfs.. what i discover is that their is some slight difference in their body stripes... asia regal tends to have slightly thicker and vibrant black stripes while the redsea has more virbant blue stripes.... hope that helps...

ok, enough info...thanks everyone.

will wait til i see one wif yellow-orange belly, vibrant blue stripes, if possible shipment comes together wif red sea sohal tang, maculosus angel and asfur angel. Also, watch out for injury to body and mouth.
