tangs not eating after released from beta box.

bought a sailfin n a powder brown yesterday, kept in beta box n its eating cyclo-peeze n pellets. but today when i released them into the main tank, they only peck on rocks nut doesn't eat cyclo-peeze n pellets anymore.

i juz caught them back into the beta box liao. can anyone tell me how to make them eat in the tank? does keeping them in the beta box till they eat stress them??

wha..u set them free and catch them back?? They will get stress further..

wat happen if u set them & they dun eat again?

I think u need to wean them to start eating from the main tank.

it might help by asking the lfs what food they feed those fishes u got.

Unless u have poor water quality...They will eventually eat prepared food, it will take maybe few days to 1-2 weeks later. Now that they are pecking on LR is a good sign.

hmm tried alot of food... tangs still not eating... only sailfin feeding on phang cai... both not eating brine shrimp.

set them free in the tank it will be better..than sooner or ltr it will eat

Putting tangs in beta box is very stressful to the fish........ Tangs lap ard huge open space in the sea... They should never be confine to small space...

just release it, dun worry too much, if free, get a red bamboo for the tang to eat, they love it a lot.

u must have confident, or else u wcan never keep the fish u love

update... my tangs started eating brine shrimp 2 days ago liao.. now eating like pig... thanks for all the help...
