rescaping landscape

I intend to rescape and do a 50% water change to my 4FT tank. I will remove all the LR and LS and while doing so any sugestions on how I can get rid of the mantis shrimp? thanks

Observe where the killer hide, take one peice of LR at one time and make sure the guy is still in the LR.

Take the LR which the killer in, last one ( if possible , so can assure that he is there )

Than...... show time. Use tap water to let him come out.

You'll have to find where tt bugger is hiding... in which rock which hole

Got a few choices to rectify the problem:

(1) use epoxy to fill up the hole

(2) poke till tt fellow come out

(3) soak LR in freshwater

(4) soak LR in super high salinity >>>>1.03

(5) pour boiling water into the hole ** will kill LR

(6) break up yr LR

(7) set a trap

If i missed out any pls add on

thanks Bros for your quick reply. Problem is I cant tell where the bugger is. Been observing for weeks for his hideout but in vain. Saw the bugger twice lurking around than disappear.

i poke the hole it reside in with a satay stick and got a shock of my life when it climbed up onto my finger under water today finally caught the bugger.

i placed it in the toiledt bowl but it was still swimming ard after 15 minutes

Well, I find tt all the crabs, mantis, worms, etc crawl out quickly.

But I doubt the bacteria deep inside the rocks will die so fast.

Still soaking in salt water better than tap water w/ chlorine tt kills bacteria faster

aiya since you've singled out the rock the mantis is on, just soak it in super saline or freshwater for 2 hours or so.. or if you're still unsatisfied, indefinitely.. since it's only one liverock out of many that you have, it wouldn't affect the biological filtration significantly.. it will save u a lot of time worrying about the mantis.
