Sump for 2.5 ft tank

Hi all, planning to setup a sump tank for 2.5 by 1.5 by 1.5 tank, wat pipe dimensions for outflow and inflow are recommended? What range of output of return pump needed? What are the things to look out for when doing the pipe work? thanks.

wat type of tank for wat?? SPS? LPS? Fish only?

Diff tank inhabitants, diff needs

Go to some tank makers, they'll provide a complete job. Dun have to worry abt piping size or diamensions

Actually operating on a budget. The tank will be in my hostel room, will keep some hardy corals like mushrooms, polyps and fishes only. Want to sort of get involve in the buidling up of the tank, sump and everything, the joy of setting up the tank so wun approach tankmakers, sump also DIY sump. Hehe.. but i need to seek some advice from you all here, want to learn more things anyway.. Thanks if anyone could provide small assistance..

Is it possible to connect the main tank to the sump without a overflow box? can just link a pipe from the main to the sump and a return from sump to main?

check under diy forum that a overflow pipe from melvin tan , it a good design

Jireh Marine is selling the overflow pipe, it seems like the same concept from some reefers here.
