I have 2 sets of 150w saki 20K but would like to change the bulb for higher PAR. Any bulb I can use without changing the saki's bulb holder, ballast, ignitor, capacitor etc? Basically, can replace bulb while retaining all the other parts?

I'm looking at 10K bulbs but jnow that saki does not have 150W 10K. Don't want 6500K cos too yellowish.

Also, what's the rough price and where to get?

thanks

I think (marine) therefore I am

Are your bulbs DE or SE.....?

If they are SE, dun think the BLVs/Ushios come in that form.....

Wanting higher PAR, go 250 Ws.......

You have the option of SE and DE in that range

If I remember correctly, the 150W sakis do not come in standard double-ended Rx7s holders (with the round pins) applicable for all 150 W bulbs.

The Saki 150W 20kks do come in DEs....

Just got one for a fellow reefer....

My 150W MH is SE with E27 (E37?) holders.

Joe, I thought of changing to 250W but for the hassle of changing the whole set, like ballast etc.

Is BLV 10K 250W better or Saki 250W 10K?

saki dont come in 10k.........

There are only a few options for 250Ws SE MHs locally....

Basically,

Saki 6500k

BLVs/Ushio

Radiums Blue

The 14kk Bulbs under brand performance are only in DE form.......

So you have basically 2 options....

either the 6500, 10kk or Radium Blue ...... ;)

I recommend the 10kk bulb if you wan good growth without too much yellow....

Supplement with some ATI T5 Blue Plus bulbs should help ....

Alt... if you wan to keep your E 27, then the 6500k 150W is the only way to go....

:whistle

Well, if you can find one that is in SE form... :P:P

Alternatively switch your E27 for Rx7 holders.... get some tempered glass and fixtures.....

And if you are doing that, let me know if you are interested in selling your Saki 20kks Aqua blue..... I will be interested in both....

With you 400W radium and BLVs, why would you want my 150W 20k aquas for? :P
