lolz.. true.. actually use to feed only 4 cube a day only.. but just got my power blue that's why increase so much..

since now the power blue is feeding.. will reduce the feeding again.. and if he is not able to get the food will increase again see how..

but one thing.. cause looking at the skimmer.. mine is so much stronger and powerful so i guess heavy feeding should not be an issue for me.. so long all the food is gatta eatten..

How much feeding is too much??

Me running a 3x2x2 tank with a sump 3x1.5x1.5 sump, reasonable water volume and I'm running a beckett. The fishes i have are as listed in my signature but I feed only 1 cube of brine/mysis with a small pinch of cyclopeeze ( size of one BB airgun pellet )...

My skimmer will stop skimming after a few hours only to start again when I feed my fishes....

But still I suspect the DOC level is not low enough coz one of my pastel purple acro turned brown.... or maybe the lights ( 250W ) not enough...

Other factors is that I understand reefer-guy is using a 6 stage RO/DI but I'm only using DI... so many dat's where the differnce is :

RO/DI water

900W vs 250W?

im feeding much frozen brine shrimp cubes daily mainly for my anthias, i dont mind my tangs actually coz they are bold grazers -- the more they get hungry the more they nibble algae on my glass wall and rocks....

vincent, think ro/di serves me alot although i dont have a tds meter.... how often do u change water btw? i think the light has alot to do as well, i so great results after i changes my 250w 20000k with 10000k......

Bro, I change about once a week, about 5%.... I have a TDS meter, the reading of tapwater is about 70, and the DI water is about 30, so I guess it's better than not using the DI... tink the reading for RO/DI water should be around 5-10....

Guess maybe I should change the lights too, using 14,000KK now...

high nutrient cause high Nitrate and low nitrate shown low nutrient,is that true or not ?

Low nutrient normally means lower nitrate as there is lesser DOC to process... But if you have a highly effective DSB, or an effective nitrate-removing system in place like plenums, your DOC can still be high, just that the nitrates are being export quickly!! :)

Juz my $0.02... no scientific proof! :P

So,low nitrate not guarantee the SPS not brown again if DOC still High ?

Yup, the best is that try to minimise the amount of nutrients going into the tank, like control feeding, also, effective skimming can remove the nutreints fast enough to leave the DOC in the water.... :)
