T5 DIY Help

Hi guys,

I'm in the midst of attempting to DIY some T5 light.

I have a problem as in how to connect the two switches from my old light set to

one three pin socket (earth,live neutral).

I try to find resources but the closest is the diagram attached which i don't quite

understand.

I got this pic from website. My problem is how to connect the switch to one 3 pin plug.

I guess the connector on the pics means a plug,but i cant figure out the lines on the diagram refer to which wire???thks

the switch is just use to break or close the live wire. So just connect one end of the live wire to the switch and the other end of the wire to the switch. In other words just say u have one long live wire connecting point a to point b. u connect point a to the switch and the other output of the switch to point B. The earth just end as a protection. If u have any metal casing or metalic surface expose to touching, then just connect the earth wire frm the pluck to the casing other wise u can just leave it out, it would not affect ya connection in anyway.... i hope u understand wat i mean cheerS!!!!!

Hi bro,

the switches are meant for u to controll individual bulbs and not for u to connect the 3 core wire to the plug.

The 3 core wire should be connected to the diagram showing the "connector". brown to the live and blue to the nuetral. and dont forget the earth which is not shown in the diagram.

can i safely say base on the diagram i should use a connector to join all live wire to the live wire of a three core cable and the same apply to all neutral wire to the neutral of a three core cable.

Can i just leave the earth alone?

BTW the diagram is application for 4 T5 tubes ???

Sorry need to clarify in oder not to get myself electrocuted.

for earth wire just connect to the body of one of the eballast then u link the 2 ballast together...
