pipe size from durso to sump

Hi,currectly hv a 25mm durso pipe to 25mm bulkhead,would like to know what pipe size from main tank to sump should i use 20 or 25mm? got some info said that to get good result should use from big to small to prevent ###### lots of air.

My decomm 4ft FOWLR
