Is Anemone difficult to keep

I am new to this hobby.

Anyway, I have an anemone (bubble tip) for 1 month plus now so some suggestions:

i. Cover the filter inlets so they wouldn't get suck in (pict attached - mine)

ii. Create rocks with a hole/crevice where they can attach their base to at the location you want and place them there so that there is a higher chance of it staying there.

iii. Make sure you have light shining at that location as well. I am using PL light only but mine moved only once so far.

iv. Feed them.

hey..

the aboved advice regarding good flow and light are very valid. i have one bubble tip and i placed it quite high and along the path of the water outlet and it hasn't moved since i got it... more than a month... just another advice.. do not place them close to other corals especially those with long polyps as they might accidently be stung by your anemone..

They need strong lighting. Usu MH otherwise they will roam around looking for a bright spot - stinging any coral in their way.

Eh Bro...

I think I have a moronic anemone then...

My anemone is now under a rock where there is not much lighting and wave fairly weak...

Any advise..?? Leaving it there is not a prob from me... My clowns got other anemones

:thanks:

My red BTA... feed it once every 2-3 days... it's really a big eater.... once I fed it 2 market prawns, then on another occasion found my cleaner shrimp, harlequin shrimp and purple gramma dead for no reason - water perimeters are ok... so end up feeding my BTA with all the deceased members of my tank... :cry2:

Then a day after, it grew to 1.5x bigger...
