I found my room fan coil units (multi split) very dirty and decided to do some maintenance. Managed to wash the finned coil clean but the fan blade inside the housing is very dirty. Tried very hard to open up the housing but to no avail. Anyone here in the air condition line can shed some light as to how to take out the fan blade so that it can be washed or it is not meant to be taken out? Thanks

Now I am out stationed and maybe when I get home, will take a pic of the ultra dirty fan blade to show.

The problem is both end of the blade shaft is embedded/slotted inside the housing and the best I can access is the circuit board on the righ hand side of the hosuing after taking off the FCU cover and everything. To further reach the fan motor, I will have to dismantle the whole circuit board out of the casing and that will be quite time consuming/difficult. I tried to dismantle as much as possible from the front of the housing by removing the louvers and air flow direction guide but still cannot access to clean the blades with a small brush.

I noticed previouslyy that during air-con man's maintenance, they also did not take out the fan blade and all they did was use a strong blower to blow into the fan blade from the front that's all and the fan blade still ended up quite dirty.

So, I was wondering if it is a design fault that the fan blade is difficult to take out for washing.
