for favia lovers

hi folks,

I picked up the following pieces from Pasir Ris on sat evening.

The colours are quite unique and I have not seen these colours in Favia

before so I dunno if they are real or dyed.

Interestingly they are sold as frags .... so you can get many of them in one tank.

So here goes .....

bi-colour orange body with reddish brown spots ....

this piece is a tri-colour.

yellowish body with pinkish rims and green center spots.

bi-colour lime green.

another piece ....

This is another bi-colour ..... bright yellow body with lime-green spots.

Are you sure they are yellow body .... they looks bleached to me.. just pointing out ..no offence ...

I have bought 1 piece when place under strong MH they will bleachd out and looks exactly like he yellow body..

The bright green body usu have no problem except the dull green ones and the brown body ones

I read so info about Fivia and they need moderate to low light? So i guess cant put under Mh light. Have to becareful about fivia as they can sting coral surround them.....

Yah ... I shifted one of the piece to low lights ..... I have another piece with bright green body with red mouth ... putting it on strong lights ... will see how it react - read a article by Abert thiel that some could take strong lights.

no problem so far .... mime have short tentacles .... in fact my lobo stings is much more powerful than favia .... a few polpy gone alrady due to that but it is recovering

It looks like our tank water is too clean ....thinking of selling if still cannot sustain becasue sps more important

I don't think they are bleached.

I did not see them spewing out the brown zoo.....

But I will monitor them if their colour will change.

I think the body is that colour morph.

I have the other piece also in yellow and another piece with

orange body.

If there are not dyed then they are prob true colour.

I bought these frags from Irw*na, Pasir Ris.

This is the first time I see Favia being sold as such

small frags with so much variation in colours.

They are usually sold as one big globe with the usual

green colour.

I think there are still many pieces left on sat evening.

humm..very nice! DB's pink very dark. The one i mentioned look more like BG's. But the colour is pale (whitish and baby pink). No green nor other colours. Will try to post a pic of it. Cos i personally never seen that colour morph before, so ask the experts around if its 'real'.

yup...kind of tough...I am still waiting to monitor and see got colour shift as some slightly bleached ones could look like the one I have
