which spot has it been clinging on?

Is it a removable rock? If yes, then tilt the rock.

Gravity does work for the clam so it will drop off. But careful that you dun tilt too steep an angle so that it wun be too 'forcefully' made to drop off...

RAV-65 dude,

IMO, instead of removing that clam frm its precious spot why not remove other corals away frm their positions? Meaning, lets not disturb the clam but other corals instead. Clams imo once they have found an ideal spot they are best left alone. Let them thrive on their place. Cause i noticed that clams are like prefectionists they choose and choose and choose the best spot before settling down. Therefore trying to rehabitate it into another position will only stress it, and will be made even worst should you try to remove it frm its fav position. There are chances you will injured it. And tats how i see the causes of the deaths of some clams when they are harvested frm the wild. So dont disturb it. Instead disturb other corals.

Just my 2 cents worth.... ;)
