Sand bed become brown

Hi,

I setup a new tank and cycle for 2nd week with LR only,no fish. recently I saw the sandbed turn into brown color. Any idea if this is normal?

Yup normal. It is part a parcel of cycle. The best is to cycle in darkness, it will reduce unneccesary ala problem and at the same time not affecting cycling process.

U can try using rowa or contra to remove sillicate and remember to turn off the lights to prevent the diatoms from evolving into higher plants which can make their own food

I never on the light for this 2 weeks during cycle. how come cyno still appear?

But I used the liverock from previous tank, these LR recently got lot little bubbles on it. Also some black color sponge growing on LR.

May I know ow to get rit of the black color thing?

If the sponge isn't too hideous, u may wan to leave it alone... coz if you keep angels eventually, many angels like to eat sponge... Also, they are filter-feeders...
