CABINET COLLAPSING pls help

..... ask arnd so much then now cant add refugium as my cabinet gonna collapse already even without the refugium tank on top. don ask me why its on top as mine is a F***U* setup by atl***** which i had to modify everything myself. chiller have to put on top. no refugium... no nothing!!! damn fed up liaoz.. even my MH also gotta remove as my cabinet looks like it gonna collapse!!

will T5s setup be lighter?? how many T5s required for 4.6x1.6x2ft setup??? can someone please help!! urgent... no refugium for tank wat other alternatives??

im getting so so so so ANGRY since the first day this marine tank enter my house!!!

Similar problem here. Damn, now my chiller is outside and it's damn ugly. They have the cheek to tell me if I want proper marine setup I should have told them early so that the can provision compartment for the chiller and etc. Well, if I known that earlier, I wouldn't even engage them for their service.

Not to waste money, wat i would reckon is for u to get in contact with the maker of ur tank and see if both of u can reach a understandin on how to solve ur present problem. Else, ur alternatives would be to keep the present tank but get a custom build cabinet (design in accordance to ur desire). Unless, even the sigh of tat tank make u angry and u got cash to spare then get a whole new tank ###### cabinet. But this time round make sure u design the cabinet the way u wan it.

i think the impt factor here is to prevent ur cabinet from collapsing 1st(If u intend to use this cabinet tank still). any pics to show ur cabinet...so we can further advise u....for my case, i add chang gei wood to further support my cabinet.

tell me his product patented... did research in US.. use special bacterias that outside not using. Ammonia-Nitrite-Nitrate then nitrate will become algae = food for fish.. KNS.. just give me tank plus some lousy fish and corals dump in straight away. not even sand bed.. coral chips as sand bed..

really damn angry and stressed since first day i used his services till now. 5 mnths later still damn DULAN ARGHH.. design until no chiller no sump no refugium lousy lights no circulation. haiz.... even my cabinet also rotting now coz use of lousy ply wood!!!!!!!!!! Wow... really sad to hear this... I went to IMM to see before... their workmanship is really so-so... mainly use alot of good formica to cover up... I asked for a 4ft tank + cabinet + compartments ... he said if cabinet is 6ft should cost around $4-5K... I thought it is with good chengai wood... when ask, he said ply-wood... my mouth nearly drop!!!

I then turn and told my wife ... this guy is trying to pull a fast one on me...

must really do homework before getting a tank...

i think its best to file a complain with CASE...if u still have the receipts and all those documents, i can help...my english not very powerful..but i am good at complaining..that will be the later part..

for now, i think its best if u can show us a pic then we try to figure out ways to prevent your tank from collapsing..

take more pics, then i can help u complain about them..i believe there are some ways to deal with them...

Do put your anger aside for now and try to rectify your problem first. Maybe u can remove the water and lighten the load first.

Den see how u can either prop up with spare wood and strengthen the cabinet. If cannot, I advise you to tear it down and start anew.

At least u will have peace of mind rather than nightmare of flooding your room...

last time wanna keep marine dad din allow. say lotsa maintenance till we were stupid enuff to listen to his JUST ADD water theory..

seriously.. he is a super good talker.. if u dont do homework u will surely believe wat he says.... coz he can explain fast, clearly n naturally till the extent that u really believe his products patented n etc... but actually is bull shi*.....

how? anybody can offer alternatives to refugium?

some of the things i can think of..

1)thinking of adding macroalgae in main tank. but looks ugly..

2)use of nitrate resin and rowaphos? not used them b4.. good??

3)denitrator but heard not so good.. + no space for it..

currently wat im doing is constantly changing water + adding of AZ no3 and also aquapharm Instant MUD to remove phosphate..

I think a refugium should be the least of your worries right now. First make sure the cabinet is really secure - if not even your main tank (and anyone else at home) will be at risk, not to mention thinking of adding things on. See if it's warped, a pic will really help a lot. A few vertical support beams will usually help a lot, and I'm sure there are some reefers here good at civil engineering or related to be able to advise you.

Also, if you're sure there has been a mis-quotation and mis-understanding, try to sort it out with your tank-supplier. See if there can be a mutual agreement to replace the cabinet. If you have all the proof with you about your supplier not following his original blueprint for your renovation and false claims regarding his quality of work, I think taking it to CASE might be a good idea.
