hi

Wats the required makeup of a clean up crew & numbers for a 4 ft tank. To keep the whole tank super clean. Current tank is mixed reef with about 4 snails, one star, one urchin, one black sea cucumber. Any suggestions??? I've heard of people having 50 plus snails, crabs etc...

Get those 10-20 of those dwarf hermits (white, blue or red) to attack the left over food and detritus & a 2-3" blue cheek gody to take care on the whiteness of the sandbed.

the small maxican turbo snail (not the normal big turbo) at quite good, but twice the price of a normal turbo....i had 6 on my 2 footer and glass and same bed very very clean... for a 100g you might need around 30...

hermit crabs are good and nice to watch, but can't clean tank glass or pipe and they eat coraline algae when all other algae runs out...they also eat snails that are unfortunate enough to be turned...:(

Tried the goby, always hide one corner... only one small corner clean. Anyway, think my dottyback will whack the fella also.

Will get the snails (about 20) & crabs (about 10). The snails are those sold in Irwana in a tub one right? About $1 each right??? Where to get the crabs. Will the crabs kill the snails?

i read from some where that golden head goby always stay as a pair, they wont survive long when alone, quite vulnerable. and they have the tendency of splitting the sand all over the place including your prized coral!! get the cucumber instead .

I have a blue cheek goby. It has always been alone from day one and so far so good. about 5 months already.

But ya, it likes to spit sand all over the place. Your rocks will turn white.
