SG? as in Specific Gravity?

always around 1.022 -1.026..

I maintain mine at the higher end 1.025-1.026 cause I remember reading from somewhere that inverts do better in higher salinity. anyone can verify?

to maintain sg (specific gravity) top up with freshwater when main tank water evaporates .

to maintain 28deg celcius u need a chiller or a fan .

fan should be placed so that it blows at or across the water surface .

But maintaining upper range may cause stress to fishes coz oxygen is harder to dissolve and makes breathing difficult.

yup, that's rite if u hav a higher temp + high salinity...

since ur temp is at a higher range, IMO, try to keep ur salinity at 1.023, with allowance for water evaporation to 1.024 :)

currently my sg is around 1.0215 to 1.022 at 28 d c , cause the guy from sealife told me to lower the sg when the temp is high and vice versa, i using coralife hydrometer. maybe the lowering of the sg took out the coralline algae, fast disappeaing.

should i raise it to 1.023 /1.024 ?

and for the fan-- lfs mostly sell fan and mounting together i think around 30 plus, the fan alone i saw in sim lim only 16 or less, that means the mounting 14 plus ? where to get mounting only since i have the fan already.

as for chiller which brand for 4 ft the cheapest and reliable, and will my power bill sky rocket ?

any one ?

DO NOT RAISE YOUR S.G.!!!!!

Specific gravity changes with temperature so it does not mean the higher your temperature, the higher the salt content.

That's why you see many of us using refractometers with temperature compensation

But if you tame me, we shall need each other.

To me, you will be unique in all the world.

To you, I shall be unique in all the world...
