I'd try a SICCE Extrema, cause it is quite a high volume pump (i using it for my 3ft main tank-2ft sump too), and its volume is adjustable, which can eliminate the trouble of using valves...

Its not as expensive as an Eheim too, and its shaft is a ceramic one...
