Yeah, I agree with YzF. I was never successful with signal gobies... got them but they just keep disappearing... till now didn't really know why.

Try golden head gobies (blue cheek?). Problem? They scatter sand all over the place... kinda nuisance at times...

hi there...

i would think a black sea cucumber is quite effective as it does its job and doesn't make the tank too messy, unlike the blue cheek. and if ur blue cheek doesn't eat prepared food, it'll starve when the algae on the sand runs out. the two spot is a pretty good choice too, however i feel its not suitable for bigger tanks.

Sand shifting star... i have 4 of them.. they are very active and hardworking, further more, gentle without stirring up the sand.. occasionally see them climb up the tank wall and fall back on the sand to bury themselves in another spot again..

:lol::lol:

Reb*** - $3 each

What is the best and most effective sand-shifter out there? I want something to move the sand so that there won't be much algae build-up.

blue cheek goby...........a 2-3" size is enough to take care of my 3ft tank cyano, diatoms DSB.
