Ok... this is the latest update..

According to valuable advice from our very own Danano, I have applied superglue to the underside of the montis (both caps and encrusting kinds) that is after I have siphon out the adults using a 10ml syringe.

The superglue is applied and allowed to flow over the dead areas covering and suffocating all remaining egg clusters. (since such would take 6 months to hatch and would bring another term of grief).

All montis affected are placed into a holding reef which would also be home to 2 starved sixliner and canary wrasse.

I have also purchased a small sixliner and canary for my main reef... let's hope their small size would give my ###### shrimps longer lifespan...

Jus curious, any other fishes that would peove valuable for the elimination of parasites?

Curious, thought of getting a 6-line as a precaution, but anyone knows how fast they grow? will they grow big very quickly??

Sixliners even as adults are relatively small.

The only issue with them is that once they are adaoted to a reef begin to show an extremely aggressive attitude towards new additions.

I nickname them the "small terror"

Did a search on RC and came up with the following..

These nudis are extremely hard to kill!!!! :cry2:

There a few suggestions.

1)Potassium Permanganate dip . (anyone knows how I can get it locally??)

recommended dosage for dip. 25 mg per gallon.

2)Kents Poly Ox.. (what the h**k is this?)

3)Someone in RC mentioned that tetra marine oodmed consist of the chemical Quinine Hydrochloride dihydrate in 1261.7 mg as the major element.

Was wondering the few tubes of quinine that I'm holding from the last "flatworm busting" event here would work....? :erm:

Finally, elimination with biological means don't seems to work.

Potassium Permanganate aka KMNO4 aka Potassium Manganate 7 is commonly found in pharmacies like Guardian or Watson. Because it is a VERY powerful oxidising agent used to treat wounds and cuts! It is purple in colour a very nice purple. Same effect for wounds like Iodine just that it is purple..

(I used alot of this when i was doing my experiments in school because i ws learning redox reactions tat time.. and also for my qualitative analysis aka QA. Chemistry students should know this guy..hehe)

I suggest you get the flatworm-eating-slugs in ML i dont know how many left but as Terryz has said.. it is good for flatworms cause flatworms are its main diet. BUT! it will die if there are no more flatworms left... but if your tank is so populated with flatworms might as well get this guy just a couple of notes save all those trouble dipping and feeling very worried will your precious sps die of extreme oxidation (KMNO4 is very strong oxidising agent). And this guy will only die when there are no flatworms left so let him have a good feast eating those flatworms. IMO, I prefer using a natural predator than those chemicals. Afterall, we are trying to create a small part of nature in our tanks so might as well use slugs than chemicals. ;)

I hope this helps...
