Frag and discard the affected/suspected parts.

If there are eggs, apply superglue over them.

This is what I do.....

Use a syringe to suck out those offensive bugs...

and cover areas and crevices with superglue gel...

Been inspectin the frags for a while... seems good with no nudi activity....

But to ensure that all things procceeds well... will head them for a TetraMarine oodmed dip plus lugols.... B)

gobies gobbled??? wow i can get this instead of the grouper to kill my clown goby! reborn... here i come!

Joe_p, do you know if it came from a recent LFS shipment? i believe most of us were dead tired upon reaching home so may not have done a thorough check. i know i did check but these buggers can be smaller and at 1am in the morning... i skipped the lugol dip, hope i dun regret this later.

Joe_p, if reborn or sealife dun have lugol, juz SMS me. i got a bottle of Kent Lugol. dun mind going to ur place at nite cos wanna see ur tank and pick up the plugs as well.

I think moron meant those shrimps....

Heheh.... dun wanna drive everyone here on a nudi search and destroy mission...

Cos dun think those nudis came from the last few batch of shipment... did a trace back to those montis that I have gotten and those bugs must have came as hitchikers from a piece from a reefer here.....

I have lugols already... you are still welcome of course.... ;)

So which wrasse is the best to use?? Does the 6-line burrow into the sand too??

I would prefer the leopard wrasse jus like what Ancelot mentioned...

cool dude with lots of attitude...

only issue is that they are consider extremely difficult to keep....

would it be possible to put the infected monti in a quarantine tank, with a starving 6-line wrasse to feast on whatever nudis it sees? that way u dont have the problem of removing the bugger and ur monti be nudi-free...

Excellent advice ...... ;)

Would be good for the other reefers...

But this one got lots of montis to transfer.... :P:nuke:

6 line wrasse are freaks in reefs...... Darn aggressive animals....

Jus curious , you mentioned that the nudis wiped out your digi? thought they oinly feed on monti capriconis?

Well i am sure the same nudis fed on my pink digi. They must have thought it is pocky ;) . A feeding six liner is easy to trap when you don't need them anymore. My six liner used to destroy small crabs and bristle worms too! Maybe i was lucky but i think it is good to give it a shot. Like i mentioned, 2 days is all they take :)

Tough one to keep alive for any length of time. And when it dies...oh my what a big feast for your crustaceans.

Well, that beats trying to fish one out ... right? :nuke::nuke::P

Think I might jus give the 6 line a go at my reef.... ;)

if you do go with six lines......got to remember that the subsequent addition of smaller fish will be tough....a mean little guy.

AND keeping the guy hungry tends to get it to do the job. Overfeeding him and I dun think he'll bother to go chomp at the nudis

Hmm... would it be better if I just get a mini small sized 6-line?

Urm... won't grow big after eating all the nudi and then once no more nudi, start eating other fishes?

By the way Joe... how's the monti?? any updates or pix? may I ask what brand of lugol is good? Now you got me concern if there is any in my tank...

Six lines wont eat your fishes...however they are rather territorial and petrols their area quite relentlessly....small fishe sthat goes in tend to be wack by it

Will now send the whole collection to some dips followwed by employin a sixline wrasse .....

Strange thing is that the montis in my reef has not been affected much....

my frags defintiely are...

after reading this, i was watching my one and only rust coloured monti and to my horror, one part seems to have nudis! left it for a couple of hours and took a look again... the white patch seems to be growing bigger or was it my imagination ???

decided not to take the risk so i broke it off the reef wall and examine closely. sure enough, nudis! frag away the affected area and did a fresh water dip on the healthy piece < could not find my lugol bottle < lesson learnt, never let wife touch ur marine stuffs... u dunno where she will put it and since she got no idea what it is, she cant help you locate it later!

not sure where the nudis came from but the monti has been with me for >2 months. got it from a bro here but cannot remember who liao but im pretty sure it did not come with the monti. most likely the latest sps shipment but i bought from all 3 places!
