Sump Tank

It's your personal preference.

Logically, you should do your water changes from the sump as you probably want to clean up the settled detritus from there as well. You can leave enough water in your main tank while draining what's in your sump.

basically when u first start off sump tanks are not really required.

As u start getting more fishes than ur bioload canhandle, u can build a sump tank and include sand, bio rings, filters and everything in it.

It helps cultivate more bacteria due to the contents in thetank and also cleans ur water of dirt
