met a kind lady reefer today in the shop. she gave me many tips on reefkeeping, so i decided to give a try on corals. hope these 2 new additions can survive well in my tank. so many thanks to flamey who cleared my doubts in this area.

i don't have a decent dc. for now, i'm using this lousy ko*ak which has lousy white balance and poor focusing. can't take proper pictures with it. really miss my S50 which i used to have. haiz....

gave away my powderblue following the advice of a fellow reefer. tank looks a bit empty for now.

anyway, my sand bed produces a tiny bubble every one or 2 minutes. is that a good or bad sign? why i have this concern is that the bottom 2/3 of it has turned black. anyone has any insights?

thanks

cause powder blue belongs to a genus of Acanthurus which imo, should be kept in a 5.5 foot and above tank.. other than that all are a cross out for this fish. the only result will be death for them.. if you want to see a healthy Acanthurus go to OP.. the boss there has such a HUGE tank for them that even an Archilles was a happy fellow in it... and most importantly without ICH!

anyway sis AP, i calculated your tank specs le.. your tank can keep these fishes so i shant not say anymore..

So rocky99 happy reefing any problems feel free to ask more than delighted to help you..=)

one week of hardwork! after my research on skimmers, running a poll, and hunting ard singapore. i finally got a macro needlewheel AS200P. due to space constraints of my pathetic 2ft sump and cabinet, it took me 3 hrs to make space and fit the pump and everthing in

i got it a very good price with our sponsor. great guy kenny taught me quite a few things on reefkeeping. a nice trip down.

smart move...i've always regretted not doing my hood properly..now very troublesome...

i din put a hood cos i tot cleaning algae will be harder with one... i think the tank will look shorter oso with the hood on... and better ventilation....

nice and clean look.Double view scaping must be very difficult in an 18inches wide tank, but u've done a wonderful job.Thumbs up and good going.Maybe u can throw in a few more powerheads for circulation??

thanks... powerheads will be my nxt investment.. broke for now..... i'm using a 7w submersible pump to do the job for the time being.....

juz got a cl-650, not as noisy as i expected.... initially, kicks in v frequent. but after using a bigger pump, the interval is 10min/30min... doing a gd job now..... temp is 26+ but corals dont seem to open well.....

only ran for one week...look at the amt foam oozing from the hole.. the dirt clogged up the tube that drains the skimmate.. luckily i spotted it early.. i'm prbly letting too much air in.... what a great piece of equipment for the price...

this little friend climbed into the overflow box that has been fenced. fortunately it din jam up the outflow pipe... ###### so hard to the glass that i had to spend 1 hr asking for help and to rescue it. this carpet will stay in this KFC tub for few days until i decide whether to put in another tank.
