Tested my calcium level in my tank. Undetectable.

Just tested my effluent from my CR. Undetectable also?! What can be the reason?

Just change 20% water using Coralife salt.

Using Mini Labour Test lits (calcium & magnuesium)

Bought another Aqua Test kit to confirm result. Undetectable also..

Both test kits ask me to drip and count the drops of the last chemical until it changes from RED to BLUE. The problem is that my solution is already BLUE!!

Bubble counter shows about 1 bubble per sec. Only have a few colonies of SPS and couple of LPS. No clams.

What can be the problems?? Pls advise...

Faulty test kit??

Should use salfrite test kits... more reliable.

If got 1/2 mode resolution, can try... cos sometimes if Calcium is too high, you may not get a reading on full res...

May be ionic imbalance too...

Well, if I'm not wrong.

Your calcium lever is higher then the tested can test.

Most likely it's above 500ppm.

Coz, most of the test kit only able to test up to 500ppm of calcium.

The colour should turn out RED but not BLUE when you add the 1 chemical to your test tube.

You may test you newly mixed water OR add some fresh water to the test tube

and see if it turn RED. (NO NEED TO DROP the 2nd type of CHEMICAL)

If so, SURE CALCIUM SUPER HIGH LEOW. ;)

Hope this help..

Just to let you know that the aqua test kit isn't very accurate. I would rather get Sera Ca test kit rather than aqua test.

I have tried using aqua test 5 times in a row and each time the reading is different and the differences in the readings are very far apart. And btw, aqua test kit is not quite red/pink colour when you put in the tablet but it's rather purple-ish pink.

i'm confused already. I tried adding Kalk into the blue solution. It changes to red... Does that mean my calcium level is actually tooooo low??

How could tthis happen?

If you add tap water it change from BLUE to RED for sure.

How come KALK change the colour from BLUE to RED.

All the best..

Too bad we stay too far apart, else can't lend you my test kit to try..

:peace:
