150W MH light

May I know how do I select MH light for my fish tank.

is 150W enough for 4 feet tank?

u need at least 2 x 150w 10k bulb for 2ft depth for 4ft tank.

It depends on a few factor :

1) What are you keeping ?

SPS - T5 or MH

LPS - T5 or MH

Fish only - normal FL will do.

2) What is your tank depth.

> 2 ft

SPS - definitely need 250 watt for MH at least.

LPS - 150 watt MH generally will do, 250 watt might be good if it is a deep tank.

Fish only - doesnt really matter.

< 2ft

SPS - 150 watt (bare min.) 250 watt (will be better)

LPS - 150 watt

Fish Only - dont bother - just FL will do.

Generally there are other factor like the height from your bulb to the surface of the water - which is normally 30 cm but some place them like 10 to 15 cm away.
