is a second hand pacific coo in your budget? its slightly less than 1k bought at 1.2k. 4months old. selling due to tank downgrade so no use for it.

it is definately good enough for your tank sizes.

hi bros..thx for yer replies..

actually my buget is 200-300 max..for 4-5ft...

do let me noe if this is ridiculous...i am new to chillers..

but then again..no income no choice, have ta save up for it...

anyone?

let me noe

thx

bro, for that amount, can only get used resun chiller.

for 4-6 feet, u should be getting 1/4 to 1 HP but better to oversize it slightly.

resun cl-650 is between 400-450, depending on length of warranty offered. it should be good enough for up to 6 feet, but a lot depends on what temp u want to maintain, what is the ambient temp, where is ur chiller located, how much wattage is going into ur tank (pumps, lights, etc).

perhaps u can provide the below and bros here can recommended a unit for u... hmm maybe this should go under marine equipment thread.

1. size of tank

2. size of sump

3. desired tank temp

4. current tank temp without lights ON

5. current tank temp with lights ON

6. total wattage of pumps, etc in water

7. total wattage of lights and type

8. ambient temp

9. location of chiller, ie in closed cabinet (no no!), cabinet with ventilation holes or open space where got good ventilation.

cheers!

I used to run a resun 1/4hp for my 4ft tank with 2 x 150W MH for 1 yr.

for the budget..can consider a second hand 1/4 resun CL 650

(note: older version is quite noisy. the new model..heard its better)
