Hi,

Which of you have them hawks who attacks newcomers incessantly until they perish??Or preys on cleaners or bloodshrimps or shrimps in general? I am just asking around as sort of a survey, cos i want to know if I am just the unlucky chap who owns a fearsome hawk. I have seen blue devils who are tamer, i think, geez

Anyway I have mine for like more than a year I believe, and after a long while of not adding any livestock, I am just starting to add some again. So far, it seems he has murdered 1x flame angel, 1x tomato clown, 1x some dark colored blenny. He's been trapped since and its in a basket while I get the newcomers to accustomized to the tank first before letting the sob out. B) Think that's a better idea?Or do I really have to get rid of him?? :(

The one in Henry's tank is pretty large, and dont bother the rest of the folks none. Thats what my first flame hawk was like  ...doh..!

There was one in Henry's tank? How come I did'nt see it during so many of my visitS? LoLx

Oh well...fishes have personality too.

Reminds me of the false royal gramma I used to own. Practically killed any new fish. Even bites the eyes off cleanershrimps. Total monster.

Always something more important than fish.

Hrmz... the only fish which my Flamehawk HATED and WHACKED was a longnosed hawk i added months after my Flame was added... i was asking for it lahz anyway, should have known better...

Best not to add Ornamental Shrimp after your Flame Hawk is very established lor... will just become food...

But Henry taught me a method of adding Shrimp... he said never to let the shrimp free fall down the water, ie like food... he says to release them on the sand bed or into the rocks. That way, the flame hawk wont see them as food.

The alternative is to get small longnosed hawks instead of flame hawks, cause they're reported to be less likely to prey on ornamental shrimp.
