i just got 2 new pumps, Resun King-4, connected the pipes up and chucked it into the sump...but the humming sound from the pump is getting quite loud....and i think its heating up the water in the sump abit too much.

its a submissable or in-line pump....so i'm thinkin of havin it out of the sump, hopefully, it'll reduce the sound and the heat transfer

instead of drilling the sump to have a pipe sticking out from the bottom of the side panel, to the pump...can i have the pipes runing up and over the side of the sump to the pump?

sounds confusing, but i hope someone can advise....thanks~ :thanks:

you meant you put the pump outside the sump and connect one end of the piping to the inlet of the pump and another end run into the sump?

If the pump damn powerful to drive in the water in the sump into the piping the out to the pump...I think it should be ok.

I think the noise is from the pump motor vibration .....try place yor pump on a layer of thick sponge or foam.

There is always heat if pump inside the water but fan will help to disperse some heat.
