I am still contemplating whether I should use 4 T5 tubes or MH.

My tank is 4 feet X 18 inch X 18 inch.

If i DIY T5...I would be looking at around $300?

Think it would also be roughly the same if i go for MH.

But I am using an acrylic cover. Will the lowest wattage MH bulb melt the acrylic? I have 2 big TV fans inbuilt into my hood. Will those 2 fans be sufficient keep my tank from boiling under the MH?

Always something more important than fish.
