Get a new tank setup?

Hi brothers,

I feel so regretted of not having a sump tank...

Currently my 4x2x2 tank has an 6inches IOS partition on the left side of tank. Thus the lenght of tank display is actually 3 1/2 ft only. And now I realised the advantage of having a tank. Feel so regretted.

Just wanna hear some brothers' opinion whether:

1) With my existing tank, install a sump despite of the presence of the IOS. Stop using the IOS for filtration.

2) Get a new 4ft tank with a sump. At least without the IOS, the tank display will be exactly 4ft - more worth it? But if I am really to change a tank, I believe it will involve much work. I wonder whether any tank makers can actually help to dispose or buy-back 2nd hand tank too at the same time when I order a new tank from them...

if u dun mind the hard work of changing tanks, then option 2 is always better but do note that you need some space for overflow to sump so you dun get much extra except for the front area. oso ur new tank will need to cycle so ur ls how? i think it is more of a hassle than money.
