White floating specs

HI

I saw some white spec like things swimming in my tank. There were quite a lot of them.Spread out all over. Very miniscule creatures. Difficult to take a pic - too small. I think can only view properly under a microscope. Sems like some kinda zoo-plankton. I have seen them before once... only appears when I on the lights in the morning.

Anyone got any inputs ? Are these normal/safe ?

Copepods... I have them too... they come out at night... when I just swutch on the lights I can see large congregaions of these copepods swimming in the water column...soon they retreat into the rocks

Hmmm... well looks like my reef is starting to mature

I suppose these also serve as food for fish ?

but how to grow copepods huh?? my mandarin seems a little to skinny, and i'm afraid that it might die of hunger...i've got lotsa copepods in my overflow compartment but doesn't seem to see much in my main tank...

some fishes feed on them...especially mandarins, i think 6-line wrasse feed on them too..

dose phytoplankton, copepod population will grow.
