How to Add Trace Supplement?

Hi brothers,

Just a curious question.

I believe everyone knows that protein skimming reduce the amount of trace in the tank.

1) Thus lets say if we need to pour in supplement, eg trace, iodine, etc. Thus should we dose the trace into the main tank instead each time? or into the sump or IOS where the skimmer is located?

2) If inside sump, then wont the dosage be quickly reduced due to the presence of the skimmer there?

3) For dosing, is there a proper method to follow? Need to target dose at corals, etc?

do u have a trace element test kit?? dun think so...

i used to follow the recommended dosage for my old tank, end up everything died...overdosed...

unless u are able to test the level, if not try not to dose...dosing blindly will kill everything...

some senior reefers do dose trace element but that is after years and years of experience...

in fact, our tap water has all the trace elements required...so i dun think there is a need to dose additionally..
