What is a beckett skimmer???

different brands of skimmers usually use different technologies to create bubbles.

beckett , uses a beckett fountain nozzle to produce fine bubbles..

AquaC uses a patented technology called spray injection...

H&S uses needlewheel to chop the bubbles into ultra fine bubbles

all of the different types has its pros and cons..all are aiming for 1 thing, to create lotsa fine bubbles..

are u thinkin of DIYing one? i think u need to do a lot of research...

if u are thinkin of buying one...then here is a breakdown

I though Air-stone is the most efficient way of skimming.....just that its hard to tune and requires lots of maintainence!!!!

air stone is not a good skimmer...the reaction chamber is too small and its too much of a hassle to change the air stone every week...

unless u can build a 2 ft tall skimmer with 20 air stones...
