SRC Member typrobin Posted October 15, 2004 SRC Member Share Posted October 15, 2004 if it is hard then it can't be bubble algae...i think... most prob some hitch hiking grapes...another version of the bigger ones that we usually see in LFS... SRC Member shoelevy Posted October 16, 2004 Author SRC Member Share Posted October 16, 2004 ya. its darn hard. almost like as if it had a hard shell so its ok to let it be?
achillies
Hi, looks like valonia algae. "care should be taken not to break them after they are about 1/4" in diameter.. The larger ones can be mature and contain spores inside.. The spores are released when the bubble is broken (causing them to spread).. " good luck. SRC Member surfedelic Posted October 17, 2004 SRC Member Share Posted October 17, 2004 You can try to remove one piece and see if you could break the bubble using a separate container of course ... valonia algae can be quite hard ... if it is use foxface to control it.
