Zoo's not opening!

Just bought a colony of zoos, but seems once i put in my tank they do not open, though some of them is half open.

Why leh....?

1 day passed still my polyps not opening, check water condition, tank stable...

But still not open leh! How do you know that your polyps is dying or crash?

can list out your water parameter and what test kit u using..

Water Parameters: NH3/4,NO2 = 0ppm

NO3 = 20ppm

Mg = 1200ppm

Cal = 400ppm

PH = 8.5

Temp = 26 deg

Specification:

2 X 1 X 1.5ft tank

1 X Dophin C-1000 Canister Filter

1 X Dymax Protein Skimmer

2 X 24 wtt Dymax T5, 1 X actinic blue

hmm what is your KH level

also your Mg is on the slightly low side.. try increase to 1250, best if u can get 1280.

Also u did not told me what test kit u using as these result reflect differently br different brand.

Also dose some iron help zoo too..

try giving it abit more time. Mine opened nicely for 2 days and stayed closed for a few days and seemed to shrink in size. but after awhile they started opening up again nicely and appears to be propagating now. Didnt do anything or added anything just carried on changing water once a week.

copper?? are your other corals and inverts ok? cuz if ur tank is contaminated with copper your zoos won't open and will secrete a layer of protective slime sheath to protect itself.

My scorpian blenny loves climbing all over it last time... maybe something is irritating it... so it doesn't open...

No nudibranch and parasites spotted, i don't think is copper bcoz all my other corals are OK, nearly 1 week and they seems to half open only, maybe bcoz of my blenny jumping hopping on them...

I have a rock on zoos that sometimes open and sometimes does not open for days. Check a water params and parasites - found nothing.

Recently went over to Henry's and notice he used a lot of "Instant Mud". He told me that it opened and colors up his zoos and mushy. Decided to try and I must say," It really works"!

Now I dose "Instant Mud" every 3 days and my zoos are opening fuller and the colors are more vibrant too.

You may consider it.

Nudi comes out at night and they are the same colour as your zoo. You may missed it.

iused instant mud too. But i cannot tell any significant difference...haiz..maybe never dose enough..

have you check for dying sponges before you added the colony into the tank.. If not probably due to dying sponges that cause infection to the zoo thus causing them not to open

I have read that iodine may help. You may want to try dosing some iodide.
