Hi !

I'm trying to set up a marine tank(live rock & fishes only) , and i have a few questions..hope u guys can assist me in making it a sucessful one .

1) Is a Pro2222 Eheim filter good enough for my 2 ft tank ?

2) I have not got the light yet..what types of light should i get?

And wat's the roughly price of the lights and where can i get it at a reasonable price?

3) how do i know that my water is stable and ready for fliverocks and fishes?

Sorry for a bit long winded !!!!

i would only put liverocks after 3 weeks cycling after the raw market prawn process and when ammonia low to 0.. only put fish after 4 months after putting some corals in i mean only mushrooms or finger leather..

Canisters filters are a whole lot of trouble. Overflow filtration systems are so much easier to maintain. (At least thats what i feel after using both, no offense to canister filter users)

The market prawn method of cycling is definitely feasible, but the smell and water... my mom was pissed manz... Haha~

There is actually no need to wait to add the liferock. There are bound to be die offs on the rock whether or not it has been cured by the LFS. Liferock is a good way to kick off the cycling process.

The internet has lots of resources on cycling methods. Read through them and choose the method which suits you best.

ps. there are many other cheaper places to get lighting.

pl lights/t5s is recommended for a 2 footer if u intend to keep corals..

if its a fish only with live rock tank, an normal FL is sufficient..

most pple recommend natur* aquarium at thomson area for its cheap cheap prices.
