currently i am running RobSKim Mini 120/500 in my own tank...

initially when i feed home-made Henry's fish food, i get relatively darker skimmate..but now, i only feed pellets and flakes 2-3 times daily (which still means that i feed quite a lot), but skimmate is getting lesser...the last pic that i post, is skimmate that i get in about 4days...considering that i feed so much, and i have 2 poo poo machines (tangs) in my tank, i should get something better right??

other things tat i do are as follows:

i change my water with seawater from t95, 20% every week, sometimes more times a week depending on laziness...

i also feed DT once every 3 days...

is there by any chance that my filtration system is so good tat i cannot get good skimmate?? or issit the frequent water change that is helping my system??

pls kindly advise...thanks...

The only reason I can think of is your reasonably low bio-load.. furthermore u change 20% water every week.. nothing much for the skimmer to skim if there's not enough DOC anyway... since nitrates not a problem, I guess u shldnt worry... :) My skimmer used to have very green tea skimmate only until i started feeding Henry's food that I get really black skimmate...
