2 options for you

1. Buy a regular external harddisk(for example maxtor external harddisk)

2. Buy a normal hardisk + external casing.

I always go for the 2nd option as it is cheaper compared to the regular external harddisk. There are many external casing available in the market. If you are going to use the external harddisk continuously, then you have to buy a casing with built in fan.

USB or Firewire : Its up to you. But i find USB is more common compared to firewire. Or you can buy a combo which has both.

For harddisk you can go for either Western Digital, segate, hitachi.

For bigger capacity need go for regular harddisk is cheaper.

120GB - est $120 (RPM 7200 ATA100 2MB cache) and now seagate comes with 5yrs warranty. External casing USB type $80-100. Fireware 1349 might be around $120 or comes with both type. As mention by reefer ensure you have both interface when use on machine

Notebook price 40GB already cost around $150 (4200 RPM)

USB casing abt $35-$60 but no need power (not sure for firewire)

hopes this help

cheers

so you put them in external casings? or you slot them into PC?

also, the external casing comes with it's own power supply is it? if that is the case, then good good good. need to look for one that has both firewire and USB....so can use Firewire for notebook, but USB for PC. :P

if you are looking for speed go for the western digital hdd or any 8MB cache 7200 hdd. price is abt right around $1/gb. then get an external harddrive enclosure.

the pros of it is if you do run out of space, you can always buy another HDD and hook it up via USB to your notbook or pc. Get those aluminium harddrive enclosures and best if have fan so it can dissapate the heat.

Jus my 2 cents.

for 120GB harddisk, the approximate price will be around 150 SGD. The casing ranges from 70 to 130. Buy casing with builtin FAN. So in total 220 to 280.

;)

wow.. tat's kind of cheap man..

Everything's sold. Back in 2yrs time.

If it's a WRX, it gotta be STI.
