hummm....if you drill 1 or 2 holes near the top of the reactor and attach a pipe, it will work as the same principle as in a overflow.....then at least the water exit from the pipe instead of the mouth of the reactor (very messy)

anybody out there thought of a way to automated the "shaking" part and set the motor to a timer. that will remove the hassle to shaking it manually everyday.

How much did the clear cylinder cost you?

actually can use clear PVC ...though may not be as nice as acrylic ...but should get the job done at a lower cost...

the whole cost of reactor cost 20+

not include the pump

I dont the price for clear PVC for this size but I once ask Hai Cheong the price of a 4". 1 feet cost $42.

was thinking of connecting a SCWD between the input and the pump so that the water flows in randomly at different direction.....will not remove the need to shake the reactor entirely, but at least now maybe shake once a week????

wish I have a drill to make the part to connect to the pump...you seal it with what adheresive??

i never seal the hole that connect to the pump,

i just use the ehiem connector(as you can see a screw there)

i just screw it in~~ thats all

and it hold pretty strong
