hi all, i have a very big boxer shrimp which i cannot catch unless i tear down my tank..i have planned to bait him out and snip him apart with a scissors..I KNOW IT IS CRUEL...but he is the only suspect to my fish deaths and injuries...i cannot add any cleaners or blood shrimps because he is really really territorial...

pls vote and his fate shall lie in your hands...thanks...will only decide when i get about 50 votes, if not i will leave him be (and kill more fishes)

he is always hiding underneath the rockscape...in fact, i've never seen him wondering out of there...

i know its cruel, and my gf will definitely screw me for tat...hhhmmmm....i mean scold me for that...but he is also the culprit that killed my gf's 1inch blue tang...

he is like a mantis shrimp in my tank....

If you really can't get him out, just buy bigger fish next time. My guess is if he always hide then it'll be difficult to kill him also

Even if you use a scissor i think that fellow will be faster than you. Get a hawk fish. ... let this be your last resort. Sound really cruel

If you can bait him then why kill him? Just post it in the Sell Off Forum, sure got brothers wanted to buy wan. But must warn them first lah. So if they are have SPS tank without any fish, they may consider.

i do have a flame hawk fish in my tank...but my boxer is definitely much bigger than my flame hawk fish...

I didn't know boxer shrimp is that aggressive. I have one boxer shrimp, 3 blood shrimp and 2 cleaner shrimp. They all live in harmony eventhough the boxer shrimp is the biggest among all. Anyway, I have recently spoted a crab in my LR. A big one too. So is it possible that may be you have some killer in your tank and not the boxer shrimp.

My boxer shrimp is murdered by my bi-color dottyback fish instead!

I think its weakest time is when it just molted and the dottyback fish attacked it and end up it was eaten by the fish.

Put in a clown trigger to end your misery that is if you wanna send it to heaven....but dun think boxer shrimp is that BAD...perhaps there may be other stuffs in your tank.

I have the same problem with my boxer. I saw it kill my first yellow tang with the claws. I tried baiting so many times but the fella is a smart bugger. If anyone got a good idea to catch this fella , please share. If i catch it , I will glady give away FOC.

your fish also white spot outbreak right? I think all your corals normal normal ones so put them aside or look for LFS to hold for you 6 weeks while you drop the salinity to kill the bugger as well as to get rid of the ich.

can DIY trap maybe? Using 2 litre Soft drink bottle... cut and invert the cut portion into the bottle. Place some Nice Shrimp food and wait for it to fall for it!

I caught some really hard to catch fishes in my tank full of PLANT! Not 100% but can try...

ELSE, since you boxer like to hide in cave then DIY a cave that it cannot resist using 500ml softdrink bottle covered with some rock leaving a large opening for it to go in! once IN then using a net cover the opening and remove the bottle!

for that trap, fish is easier to catch.

If u notice most of the fishes are pretty active.

U dun see invertebates runnig ard often. some only come out at nite.

This trap need constant monitoring, esp your "bug" I tik active at nite.

Try using hose chicken essence bottle, drop food inside, the slippery side won't b so easy to climb out.
