SRC Member Melvyn Tan Posted September 27, 2004 SRC Member Share Posted September 27, 2004 Hi, Would like to invite feedback regarding the use of this wave maker...how do you find it and how it fairs compared to Tunze (if you also happen to experience Tunze as well). Cheers ! SRC Member kschew1498 Posted September 27, 2004 SRC Member Share Posted September 27, 2004 I happen to be using one now.....the pump powering the water to the SCWD must be strong!......I think a tunze is better reason being its plug and play.....but for a SCWD.....got to connect to a pump and need 2 more connector to connect to the 2 outlet......a bit troublesome I would say.....but then price wise.......is cheaper lor. If you are into SPS......I think most of the reefers here are into Tunze.....

SRC Member Melvyn Tan Posted September 28, 2004 Author SRC Member Share Posted September 28, 2004 Thanks... Read about the SCWD in their website.....still dun really understand how it works....one end connect to a pump (or cannister filter) the other 2 will be its outlet....isn't this just like a tee joint? SRC Member Tigger Posted September 28, 2004 SRC Member Share Posted September 28, 2004 U need a strong pump > 3000L/H to power scwd. I am quite sure a canister will never be able to power an SCWD
SRC Member kareen Posted September 29, 2004 SRC Member Share Posted September 29, 2004 Read about the SCWD in their website.....still dun really understand how it works....one end connect to a pump (or cannister filter) the other 2 will be its outlet....isn't this just like a tee joint? Inside the SCWD, there is some mechanism that switch between two outlet so that at one time only one outlet will have the wave. The position of two outlet should be left and right side of the tank, in this way u get the swaying motion.
